ALEXANDRIA, La. – Junior
Jason Johnson (Toledo, Ohio) headlined the first 18 holes for Alabama A&M men's golf as they closed Day 1 of the 2021 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Championships in fourth place with a round of 319 on Monday, April 19.
Johnson fired off a 77 to tie for 8-of-24 while fellow junior
Conner McMillan (Oxford, Ind.) was just two strokes back at 79 to tie for 13
th. Senior
Nylan Washington (Decatur, Ga.) was right there as well in a close field as he shot an 81 to tie for 18
th and sophomore Torrance Allen (Ellenwood, Ga.) was just a stroke off that pace at 82 in a tie at 20
th.
Alabama State leads the field with a 293 with Prairie View A&M (303) and Arkansas-Pine Bluff (312) in second and third, respectively. Texas Southern rounds out the field in fifth with a round of 324.
