HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – With the close of the 2020-21 campaign, the Alabama A&M Sports Information Office is producing a Season in Review for each of the program's 14 sports that competed during the year.
That series will begin with the fall season before progressing to the winter and spring campaigns. Each week reviews will be released on Mondays and Wednesdays until concluding with the final spring sport on Wednesday, July 28 and a Department Season in Review on Monday, August 2.
Today we take a look back at the 2020-21 Bowling season.

2020-21 Season in Review
- Saw action in just two tournaments on the season due to COVID-19 cancellations.
- Had five of seven scheduled contests wiped off the schedule as a result of those cancellations.
- Played in SWAC East Regionals (2/6) and SWAC Championship (3/21).
- Earned No. 6 seed in league championships with wins over Grambling and Texas Southern at East Regionals.
- Won pair of qualifying matches on Day 1 at SWAC Championships before falling 4-1 to Alabama State and 4-2 to TSU in Day 2 Double Elimination Round.
- Registered combined pinfall of 4,367 while going 2-3 in qualifying rounds, posting an average of 174.7.
Individual Achievements/Honors
- Montaya Walton led the Bulldogs with 12th place finish in SWAC East Regionals. Posted average pinfall of 177.4 in 10 games with highs of 200, 221 and 222 pins.
- Nariya Jackson was 19th (174.4 pf) with games of 200 and 215 and Daphne Price finished in the Top-25 at the East Regionals with an average pinfall of 152.44.
- Jackson notched a pinfall of 188.8 over five games during SWAC Championship qualifying rounds while Price and Walton notched marks of 187.60 and 177.60, respectively.
- Walton led the team with season average PF of 177.10, placing 12th in the SWAC. Jackson was 16th at 174.10 with Price notching the next highest average at 152.50.
