HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Competing against numerous Power 5 programs, Alabama A&M women's cross country placed 35-of-39 at the North Alabama Showcase on Friday, September 16, finishing with 1,136 points.
In a field that included the likes of Auburn, Alabama, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Memphis and Mississippi State, senior
Aneisha Ingram (Frankfield, Jamaica) led the Bulldogs with a 262-of-389 outing as she notched a time of 20:10.58.
Graduate
Taylor Wingo (D'Iberville, Miss.) came in at 284 with a mark of 20:35.50 and sophomore
De'Ajene Johnson (Detroit, Mich.) closed out the top performances at 340 with a season-best 22:36.20.
The Southeastern Conference claimed three of the top four spots with Alabama (73 points) taking the meet ahead of UK (78), the Atlantic Coast Conference's (ACC) Georgia Tech (110) and Auburn (125). Kennesaw State rounded out the top five on a course that will host the 2022 NCAA South Regional later this year.
The Bulldogs won't return to the course for nearly a month when they head to the home turf of meet winner Alabama. They will compete in the Crimson Classic on Friday, October 14 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
