Alabama A&M Releases 2024 Softball Schedule

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | Alabama A&M head softball coach Roy Foreman announced on Tuesday the upcoming 2024 softball schedule, which features three season-opening tournaments and 12 home games at the Bulldog Softball Field.

Alabama A&M, which went 22-19 overall last season and 13-11 in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC), finished in a three-way tie for third in conference play last season and just missed out on the postseason conference tournament.

"We are excited for this upcoming season," Foreman said. "Our coaches and players have bought in and the culture has been great. We have some key players back from last season and some recovering from injuries. We've added some new key pieces to this team. We hope we can continue to build our chemistry and leadership. Last year we came so close, and we're all just ready to play."
The Bulldogs will open the season with 14 games in three different tournaments.

Alabama A&M begins the season on Feb. 10-11 at the River City Classic, facing Xavier of Louisiana, Grambling State and Alcorn State, followed by a three-day tournament at the HBCU Collegiate Softball Invitational Feb. 16-18 against Fort Valley State, Howard, South Carolina State, Maryland Eastern Shore and North Carolina. The Bulldogs close out its 14-game stretch in the HBCU Celebration Classic Feb. 23-25 in Montgomery, Ala., against Alcorn State, Howard, Southern, Tuskegee and Grambling State.

The 2024 home opener for the Bulldogs is March 8-9 as AAMU begins SWAC play with Florida A&M coming to town for three games.

Alabama A&M returns to the road the following weekend (March 15-16), visiting Jackson State for three games, before returning home March 22-23 against Bethune-Cookman.

The Bulldogs close out the month of March with three games on the 29th-30th against rival Alabama State in Montgomery.

Alabama A&M opens the final month, April 5-6, at home against Mississippi Valley State, before returning to the road for three more games against Bethune-Cookman (April 12-13) in Daytona Beach, Fla. AAMU closes out its five-game road trip on April 17 with a doubleheader against Oakwood.

The Bulldogs' last home series will be April 19-20 at the Bulldog Softball Field, playing host to Jackson State and will close out the regular season April 26-27 in Tallahassee, Fla. against Florida A&M.

The 2024 SWAC Softball Tournament begins May 7 at the Gulfport Sportsplex in Gulfport, Miss.
