Former Baseball Player Kency Duarte Named to 2023 Power List as Rising Star in Banking and Finance in Oklahoma by The Journal Record

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Former Alabama A&M baseball player Kency Duarte has been acknowledged in his professional career, being named to the 2023 Rising Star List for Banking and Finance in Oklahoma recently.
 
Duarte played for the baseball program from 2008-11 as a relief pitcher and outfielder, while earning Second Team All-SWAC honors in the outfield during his senior season. Duarte is currently a partner with Arledge & Associates P.C. and has practiced public accounting for more than 10 years. He graduated summa cum laude with his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and now provides financial and compliance audit and consultation service to a variety of employee benefit plans, for-profit, governmental, and not-for-profit organizations.
 
In his current role, Duarte delivers advice and consultation regarding complex accounting matters, leads engagement teams, and assists in ensuring that reports issued by the firm comply with professional standards. He is currently a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Government Finance Officers Association, Association for Latino Professionals for America (ALFA), OKC Young Professionals and the Oklahoma Society of CPAs, for which he is a. board member of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. He is also a member of the OKC Young Professionals Leadership Class.
 
Duarte also has served as an instructor at several conferences including the Annual Governmental Accounting and Auditing Update Conference, both sponsored by the Oklahoma Society of CPAs and as speaker at not-for-profit fraud training classes. The Society later honored him in 2022 with its Trailblazer Award.
