MONTGOMERY, Ala. | The Alabama A&M University men's golf team opened the season on Sunday with the opening round of the ASU Spring Classic at the Robert Trent Jones Memorial Trail.
The Bulldogs shot an opening-round 360 as host Alabama State leads the nine-time field with a 302. Chicago State is second at 318, followed by Western Illinois (321), Arkansas-Pine Bluff (322), Texas Southern (331), Savannah State (33) and Miles (342). Southern fired a 404 to round out the field.
Juan Rey is tied for 27
th after firing an 84.
Kourey Patterson and
Bryson Hannah arei tied for 42
nd after shooting a 91, followed by
Samuel Boddie (tied 45
th) and
Emilio Angelgallon (48
th).
Alabama State's Gonzalo Moreno shot even-par 72 and leads the field by two strokes.
