FLOWOOD, Miss. | Bryson Hannah carded a 1-under-par 71 during the opening round of the 2024 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Men's Golf Championship as the Alabama A&M University men's golf team sits in fifth on Monday at The Refuge Golf Club.

Hannah recorded 11 pars and four birdies as he is tied for third.
Samuel Boddie, who registered one eagle during his first round, is tied for 13
th after shooting a 1-over-par 73.
Niall Bagnall, who tallied a team-high 13 pars, shot 3-over 75 and is 20
th. Korey Patterson, who recorded 12 pars, is 28
th after carding a 78, while Juan Rey is tied for 29
th (79).

Alabama State's Ignacio Puente leads the field after firing a 6-under-par 66 and is four shots ahead of Ismael Garcia, of Arkansas-Pine Bluff, who shot a 70.

Alabama A&M, which was 2 over on par 3s, 10 over on par 4s and plus five on par 5s, carded a 10-over-par 298 during Monday's opening round and is sixth. Alabama State leads the field by three strokes after firing a 7-under 281. Arkansas-Pine Bluff is second with a 284, followed by Prairie View A&M (293) and Florida A&M (297). Texas Southern (299) and Southern rounds out the seven-team field with a 353.
