THE HILL | For the third consecutive week, an Alabama A&M women's basketball student athlete earned a Southwestern Athletic Conference weekly award. Senior guard Darian Burgin earned SWAC Impact Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.
Burgin led the Bulldog offense in the conference home-opening weekend, where she averaged a team high 14.5 points per game scoring a total of 28 points over the two-game span, including a season high 18 points against UAPB.
In week seven, Kalia Walker and Alisha Wilson earned SWAC player of the week and Impact player of the week. In week eight, Kourtney Rittenberry earned SWAC Player of the Week.
The Bulldogs will face the Jackson State Tigers on Thursday at 6 p.m. and then travel to Alcorn State to take on the Braves at 1 p.m. on Saturday afternoon for the first pair of conference road contest.
