BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) has tabbed Alabama A&M's Ntokozo Zungu as SWAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday afternoon.
The senior was one of two Bulldogs to tally a singles point in the contest against SWAC rival Alabama State, where she defeated ASU's Diana Craciun in 6-4, 6-3 straight sets. The Johannesburg, South Africa native also picked up a pair of wins against Bethel University, when she, along with Sofia Sotelo Raya helped earn the doubles point after defeating a pair of Wildcats with a bagel on court two (6-0). At first singles, Zungu picked up a 6-01, 6-2 victory.
Zungu and the Maroon and White gear up to travel to Montgomery for the second SWAC Tennis pod, where they will face the Rattlers of Florida A&M, Panthers of Prairie View A&M and the Braves of Alcorn State on March 28-30th.
