TUSKEGEE, Ala. | The Alabama A&M University men's tennis team swept the Tuskegee Golden Tigers with a 7-0 victory on Saturday afternoon.
The Bulldogs claimed the doubles point after winning the two opening courts. Kai Cowcher and Tasso Moreira won 6-2 while Goran Krivokapic and Arnav Pathange claimed a breadstick victory on the following court. Yin Chih Lan and Agustin Marquez were ahead 5-3 when the match went unfinished.
The Bulldogs claimed the first set on all six courts in the singles session. Pathange picked up a bakery win after defeating Tuskegee's Miles Shannon Wilson at singles three. Moreira added a straight set win on the following court, winning 6-1, 6-1 over Torain Alleyne. Chih Lan claimed a victory at second singles after Kevin Eutsey retired to clinch the match. With the teams electing to play out, the Bulldogs added three more singles points. Lebogang Mashego added a pair of 6-4 wins on the final court, while Cowcher won 6-2, 7-6 on the opening court. Senior Freddie Lawrence dropped the second set before winning in a third set tiebreak.
UP NEXT
The Bulldogs return to Rocket City for a week before heading to the 2025 Southwestern Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Tournament in New Orleans, Louisiana on April 19th. The Maroon and White are set to face the winner of the Quarterfinals round at 2 p.m. at the City Park Tennis Center.
