Lady Bulldogs 8th in SWAC cross-country championships

CLINTON, Miss. – The Alabama State University women's cross country team earned its fourth straight Southwestern Athletic Conference Championship Monday at Choctaw Trails. The Hornets took the top six positions in the race with Artrailia Lesane winning her first SWAC title. She finished the 5K course in 17:49.20.

The Lady Bulldogs finished 8th with 185 points, led by Keyonna McIntyre's 21st place finish in a time of 20:26.73. 

Alabama State had 15 points, followed by Prairie View A&M with 96, Texas Southern at 113, Alcorn State, 132; Grambling State, 139; Mississippi Valley State, 164; Southern, 176; Alabama A&M, 185; Jackson State, 197; and Arkansas-Pine Bluff, 239.

Also running for the Lady Bulldogs were: Hyidea Burgess, 39th, 21:50.13; Mayah Harris, 43rd, 22:13.53; Ester Martinez, 44th, 22:18.28; and Da'Hari Lomax, 49th, 22:45.40.

Alabama State's average team time of 18:27.96 was more than two minutes faster than runner-up Prairie View A&M.
