HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – With the close of the 2020-21 campaign, the Alabama A&M Sports Information Office is producing a Season in Review for each of the program's 14 sports that competed during the year.
That series will begin with the fall season before progressing to the winter and spring campaigns. Each week reviews will be released on Mondays and Wednesdays until concluding with the final spring sport on Wednesday, July 28 and a Department Season in Review on Monday, August 2.
Today we take a look back at the 2020-21 Women's Tennis season.

2020-21 Season in Review
- Battled through eight cancellations or postponements to go 5-7 overall and 4-3 in conference.
- Advanced to SWAC Tournament Semifinals with 4-2 victory over Alcorn State before falling to defending champion Alabama State.
- Won four straight matches over Mississippi Valley State (2/27), Grambling (2/28) and Southern (3/6) and Alcorn State (3/12). First three were by 4-0 scores with the latter being a marathon 4-3 win.
Individual Achievements/Honors
- Jasmine Boyd and Anita Bozhko played the entire season at No. 1 doubles, going 5-5, to earn All-SWAC honors. Boyd would add All-Tournament recognition following the SWAC Championships.
- Bozhko went 4-4 in singles, going 4-1 at No. 1 with the other three matches coming at the No. 2 spot.
- Pairing of Bozhko and Boyd won five straight doubles matches from February 26 through March 12 while the former took four straight singles matches in that time.
- Boyd went 6-3 in singles, including 4-0 at No. 2 and 2-3 at the No. 1 position. All four of the wins at the No. 2 spot came in a row over Grambling (2/28), Southern (3/6), Alcorn State (3/12) and Prairie View A&M (3/13). Only one set got as close as 6-4.
- Camila Ruiz Diaz and India Woods saw action in all 12 matches, going 3-7 in doubles (3-6 at No. 2) with Ruiz Diaz notching a 5-4 record in singles (5-3 at No. 4).
