Gail Boyd Jones was selected as Swimmer of the Year in 1981 and placed third in the National Black College Swimming and Diving Competition. She was also a part of the AAMU swim team that placed first in the National Black College Swimming and Diving Championship in 1984. The physical therapy assistant is an active member of St. Cyprian’s Episcopal Church in Hampton, Va.
